Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Pushes for Swift Completion of Road Projects Ahead of Rainy Season
DR Congo Races to Complete Road Infrastructure Projects Before Rainy Season, Says PM Judith Suminwa
Kinshasa, DR Congo — Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka has reaffirmed her commitment to accelerating the completion of ongoing road infrastructure projects across the Democratic Republic of Congo before the onset of the rainy season.
During the 57th Council of Ministers meeting held on Friday in Kinshasa, the Prime Minister reminded cabinet members of the key recommendations made during a strategic session on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
This session, held at the Prime Minister’s Office, brought together the Minister of Infrastructure and Public Works, Kinshasa’s provincial minister for infrastructure, and various technical departments to review the current status of public works.
To ensure effective oversight, a detailed map outlining all ongoing construction projects was produced and distributed. This tool will support the government’s goal of rigorous, real-time monitoring of progress on the ground.
Prime Minister Suminwa issued clear directives to conduct on-site assessments of all active construction zones and emphasized the need to minimize traffic disruption during the work. She also called on Kinshasa residents to remain patient and place their trust in the government’s commitment to improving road infrastructure across the capital.
“These efforts are crucial to ensure safe and functional roads before heavy rains begin,” she stated, highlighting the urgency of timely completion.
The government’s renewed focus on infrastructure is part of a broader strategy to improve mobility, safety, and economic activity throughout the country.
